Admission Requirements

The admission process to the Program consists of four stages: application, selection, acceptance of admission and registration.

To apply for the Program, you must apply through the Postgraduate Vice-Rector's Office (VIPO) and submit the following documents [via a single file Name_Surname.zip, for example Oscar_Vasquez.zip], to the email: dcii@usach.cl , subject: Application 1_Sem_2024:

  • Application for admission, with all the required information and documentation.
  • Two recommendations from professors or professionals who have a postgraduate degree and who endorse the conditions and qualities of the applicant to carry out the Program studies.
  • Verify a basic level of English in reading and writing of at least a B1 level of English in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages ​​or its equivalence.
  • Birth certificate.
  • Motivation letter.
  • Original certificates, or legalized copies, of titles and degrees issued by institutions recognized by the Ministry of Education, or duly validated in Chile.
  • Concentration of qualifications.
  • Curriculum vitae.
  • Research proposal for Thesis, sponsored by a Professor of the Program Faculty.

For those applicants who are foreigners, the same requirements apply as for Chilean applicants, however, the certificates must be legalized following the procedures established by the University of Santiago de Chile.

The selection process will be carried out by the Program Committee, based on the documentary background, the result of an interview and the research proposal for the Thesis presented by the applicant.

The Director will propose to the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering the list of preselected candidates, with their respective background information, for ratification and admission processing. It will also inform you of the background of non-selected applicants.

At the end of the selection process, the Program Director will inform each applicant in writing about their status as accepted or rejected. Accepted applicants must complete their registration within the period established by the University to acquire the status of student of the Program.
